Ukraine Seeks Tens of Thousands of Robotic Vehicles for Frontline Operations
The Ukrainian government has announced plans to acquire “tens of thousands” of UGVs next year for front line military units.
Mykhailo Fedorov the deputy prime minister of Ukraine for innovation said that these robotic vehicles would protect troops by operating in areas with heavy Russian shelling and drones. These vehicles are expected to perform many tasks like delivering supplies, conducting combat missions autonomously, and evacuating wounded soldiers.
Alex Bornyakov the Dy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine on IT industry development posted a tweet; “Ukraine has started mass production of robots. @Brave1 tested 50+ various ground systems. In a few months, hundreds of them will be procured by @UNITED24 and will fight on the battlefield, saving the lives of defenders.”
The government of Ukraine has already started buying robotic vehicles. According to the local sources Ukraine purchased thousands units of unmanned ground vehicles in year 2024. The plan of Ukraine is to increase the number of these vehicles next year to help their military forces on the battlefield.
