US and Russia Meet For Ending War in Ukraine

International diplomatic representatives from the United States and Russia discussed ways to end the Ukraine conflict at their meeting on Tuesday in Riyadh. The United States intensified its work to bring Russia and the U.S. together through a peace dialogue right after President Donald Trump started his presidency and met with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The United States feels pushed to give valuable benefits to Russia because its peace talks exclude Ukraine from participation. According to President Zelenskiy, all peace talks must include Ukraine because its independence requires such participation. US officials think accepting realistic war results will lead to worldwide peace.

The new US officials Secretary Marco Rubio and Advisers Waltz and Witkoff met to challenge Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Putin aide Yuri Ushakov in diplomatic talks.

The Russian officials believe these discussions can start direct meetings between Trump and Putin while remaining uncertain about US giving concessions. Russia has been progressively extending its control over Ukrainian land for multiple months. Many expert analysts agree that Trump’s policies benefit Russia by preserving its occupied Ukrainian regions while reducing Ukraine’s defenses.

Global attention rests on Saudi Arabia as officials there decide both global future transitions and Ukraine conflict prospects.
