Which films are selected for Egypt’s El Gouna Film Festival?
El Gouna Film Festival (GFF), an annual film festival held in the Red Sea resort town of El Gouna, Egypt, has selected the first wave of international films for its sixth edition. Egypt’s El Gouna Film Festival (GFF) will run from October 13 to 20. The film festival will showcase a diverse range of films. Various acclaimed filmmakers are set to attend the film festival.
On Wednesday, Egypt’s El Gouna Film Festival (GFF) announced the selection of films. Anatomy of a Fall, a 2023 French thriller film directed by winner of the Palme d’Or at Cannes Justine Triet; On the Adamant, a 2023 French-language documentary film directed by Nicolas Philibert; and The Strange Path directed by Guto Parente, have been selected for the Egypt’s film festival. The Strange Path already received four key awards at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival. Scrapper, a 2023 UK film directed by Charlotte Regan, and “All To Play For” by French filmmaker Delphine Deloget, have also been selected.
Later on, El Gouna Film Festival will unveil more international films to be showcased in the film festival. It will also announce its Arab films line-up within a few weeks.

Intishal Al-Timimi, the director of the El Gouna Film Festival, lauded the international films selected for this year’s festival. Al-Timimi said in a statement, “Our selection process was a journey of discovery and discernment.” He said that the jury selected films that sparked conversations across cultures.
The director of the festival further said that El Gouna Film Festival was committed to innovation, diversity, and the celebration of the art of cinema. He also said that the selected international films were the testament to the filmmaker’s unique voice and perspective.
The film festival wrote on Instagram, “Our lineup is a blend of internationally acclaimed masterpieces from seasoned filmmakers and captivating early works by rising talents across the globe.”
