Billboard Arabia Launches Innovative ‘Sounds of the Land’ Music Initiative
Billboard Arabia has started an exciting new project called ‘Sounds of the Land’. This special project takes sounds from different natural environments across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and turns them into musical sounds that can be used in songs.
Using advanced technology, Billboard Arabia studied the landscape features of five iconic areas in countries like Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Morocco, Lebanon and Egypt. They collected data on the shape and topography of places like valleys, mountains, deserts and rivers. This data was then converted into unique sound recordings.
These one-of-a-kind sounds from nature have been pressed onto vinyl records. This allows the incredible landscapes of the Arab world to be ‘heard’ as artistic expressions through music for the very first time.
An Open Invitation to Get Creative
Now, all these special nature sound samples are available for anyone to download from the soundsoftheland.com website and Billboard Arabia’s Soundcloud page. Billboard Arabia wants musicians, songwriters, producers and music fans to get creative with these samples.
They invite everyone to remix, edit and blend the ‘Sounds of the Land’ samples into new song tracks. The goal is for the authentic sounds of iconic MENA environments to be featured and credited in future hit songs heard around the world.
Collaborative Album with gamma
To make this project even bigger, Billboard Arabia has teamed up with a company called gammaGammaether, they will create the first ‘Sounds of the Land’ music album with 10 songs.
Each of the 10 songs is released separately throughout the year. Top music producers from around the world will work together with talented artists from the MENA region to create these special fusion tracks using natural sound samples.
Empowering Local Artists
A big part of why Billboard Arabia started ‘Sounds of the Land’ is to support musicians and artists from the Arab world and help them gain global fans. By blending the unique nature sounds into their music, local MENA artists can make songs that feel truly connected to the natural environments of their home regions.
