Egypt Launches Digital Platform For Petroleum Products And Natural Gas

Egypt EgyptEgypt has launched a digital platform for petroleum products and natural gas, in a bid to move toward digital transformation. Tarek El Molla, minister of petroleum and mineral resources, has announced the launch of the initiative.

El Molla said that the new digital services will provide an integrated system to manage the supply of petrol to cars using a smart card instead of paper coupons. A person can use a smart card to buy petroleum products across Egypt.

The digital platform can help consumers

The digital platform will ensure secure transportation and circulation of petroleum products in the country. Any data regarding petroleum products can be accessed through the smart card. Reportedly, cashout services will also be available in gas stations. The public can withdraw cash from gas stations using their bank cards. According to the ministry, withdrawal services are now made available at 400 petrol stations across Egypt.
