French Report Shows Decades-Long Infiltration Campaign of the Muslim Brotherhood

Senior ministers were called by President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday to discuss a government-ordered report that fingers the Muslim Brotherhood for trying to undermine France’s secular principles. New information has come from the Ministry of the Interior’s official report, which last week noted the threat posed by the Brotherhood in France. President Macron requested the government to analyse the Brotherhood’s dangers and outline them for discussion at upcoming High Defense Council meetings. Over the past few years, the report says, the Muslim Brotherhood has managed to infiltrate many EU groups, associations for Muslims, and migrant groups, all to bring Sharia law to the West.
Muslim Brotherhood’s Long-Term Strategy of Institutional Infiltration
Slowly, the Brotherhood works its way into local government and schools to challenge the unity of the Republic. By using schools, mosques, and various associations, they influence schools to push their views, especially among children and immigrants, aiming to create generations that are ideologically loyal to them. Up to 140 mosques joined the Muslim Brotherhood to serve 100,000 Muslims.
Qatar, Turkey and many European organizations provide major support and donations to the organization. It states in the report that “Preaching 2.0” goes viral quickly on social platforms. Children and teenagers, led by a combination of Salafist and Muslim Brotherhood views, are gradually brainwashed with uncontrolled ideas. They use a two-tier system of speaking to the public in a calm way and privately pushing radical views to keep away from law enforcement.
Growing Calls to Designate Muslim Brotherhood as Terrorist Organization
The research has sparked more debate in France about whether it should label the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist group, like others have done. Under the new anti-terrorism law passed by the Austrian Parliament, Austria is the first European country to ban the Muslim Brotherhood organization. Since 2015, Bahrain, Egypt, Russia, and many Islamic countries have considered it a terrorist organization. The Muslim Brotherhood has also been declared a terrorist organization by other mainly Muslim countries such as Bahrain, Syria, the Libyan parliament of Tobruk and Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
According to the interior ministry of France, the Brotherhood shapes political Islamism. They say the Brotherhood is not only religious, but also seeks to get inside the state and defy its principles. Some critics claim no need for warfare or weapons, as people who slowly seep into the system are likely to do more harm than open revolts. The secular nature of the Republic is being threatened, and people start to recognize this by describing the Brotherhood as a danger to French beliefs and laws.
