On Thursday the Israeli military announced that investigations are highlighting that that there is the possibility of having killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar during a recent operation in the Gaza Strip. This military operation has targeted three militants.
The Israeli minister highlighted in his statement that the identities of the militants have not yet been confirmed. They also reported no indications that Israeli hostages were present in the building where the operation took place.
Who is Yahya Sinwar?
Yahya Sinwar is a big name behind the attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. Israel’s attack sparked the Gaza War after the assassination in Tehran in August of former leader Ismail Haniyeh, who became Hamas’s leader.
