On 9 Feb, Israeli High Court ordered that Heba Yazbak, Knesset (MK) member, will be permitted to run for the forthcoming Israeli elections regardless of an overwhelming vote in Knesset requiring her debarment.

As per the Arab News, Salwa Hdeeb, a member of the Fatah central council, revealed that Israel attempts to choke Palestinian voices, and particularly voices inside Knesset. He included that Yazbak has upheld Palestinians in Jerusalem, whose homes were undermined with demolition by Israel. He added that Yazbak has also stood by the citizens of Jerusalem, supporting Al-Aqsa against Jewish radicals.

Yazbak, who has a Ph.D. from Tel Aviv University in anthropology and sociology, and is a member of the Joint List of the Balad party, she placed 6th on the party’s list for the 2013 Knesset polls. She was undermined with the elimination of her support of Palestinian and Arab nationalists.
