Morocco Ranks 131st in Global Women's Health Index, Highlighting Critical Challenges

According to Hologic and Gallup’s recent extensive study, Morocco takes spot 131 out of 141 countries in the Global Women’s Health Index which highlights major difficulties that North African women face. The country earned only 38 points from a possible 100 while this score situated further beneath the worldwide standard of 53 thereby revealing established obstacles within women’s healthcare and rights.

The index evaluated five key dimensions of women’s health: preventive care, emotional health, safety perceptions, basic needs, and individual health. Morocco obtained a score of 10 points out of 100 for preventive care and achieved slightly higher points in basic needs (55) and individual health (57). The research shows continuing obstacles related to restricted access for education and healthcare as well as limited job prospects while illustrating discriminatory behavior and instances of gender-based violence play an additional part in these blocks.

Women’s health faces severe problems worldwide according to the report because fewer than ten percent of women undergo cancer screenings and emotional health is substantial yet unacknowledged. Systemic changes must occur immediately according to research findings which demand increased spending on healthcare and large-scale public awareness efforts together with comprehensive policy improvements targeting women’s health disparities.
