UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has condemned Israel’s recent airstrikes on Syria. Guterres said that these actions should stop immediately. He also said the sovereignty of Syria should be fully restored.

Israel has conducted many airstrikes in Syria. They are claiming that they had targeted military infrastructure and weapons.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres spoke about Israeli troops being in a zone between Syria and the Golan Heights. He called for both countries to respect a 1974 peace deal and said only UN peacekeepers should be there. 

The UN is focused on helping Syria’s political process and addressing its growing humanitarian issues. Guterres called the world to support the Syrian people. The United Nation appointed Karla Quintana to lead efforts to find missing persons in Syria. This is an important part as Syria is trying recover and establish itself again.

The call by UN for peace in the sovereignty of  Syria. This getting attention as it is a shift in international diplomatic efforts.
