Trump: We are doing well against Iran and there is no time for complacency.
US President Donald Trump confirmed that his country is doing a good job against Iran, noting that most Americans supported the killing of Qasim Soleimani, who was killed in a US raid on January 3 near Baghdad International Airport.
“We are doing well against Iran, and it is not the time to be lenient,” he wrote in a Twitter post.
He added, “Most Americans support the killing of Soleimani.”
In conjunction with Trump’s tweets, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stressed on Wednesday the importance of partnership with Saudi Arabia in countering Iran’s destabilizing behavior, and also in reducing escalation in Yemen.
“Partnership with Saudi Arabia is important to counter Iran’s destabilizing behavior,” he wrote in a series of tweets on his Twitter account.
He said, “Iran has been far behind in fulfilling its obligations towards international rules to combat money laundering and terrorist financing.”
He also added, “Iran must ratify the Palermo Agreement and the Convention on the Financing of Terrorism immediately.”
