UAE Sends 700 Tonnes of Food Aid to Flood Victims in Somalia
The UAE has sent 700 tons of important food supplies to the victims of floods that struck many districts in Somalia as part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts to aid countries affected by natural disasters. The assistance is in accordance with the UAE’s leadership’s directions to bolster humanitarian efforts and lessen the suffering of the Somali people.
In addition to providing immediate aid to areas affected by the floods, the shipments also contained necessary food supplies to address the requirements of almost 150,000 members of the affected families.
Regarding this UAE Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Somalia Ahmed Juma Al Rumaithi confirmed that the assistance shows the UAE’s commitment to support the fraternal Somali people in these trying times.
He stated, “The initiative reflects the close bilateral relations between the UAE and Somalia underscoring the commitment of the UAE’s wise leadership to provide all kinds of aid and support to the impacted communities. The UAE will continue to work alongside local and international entities to ensure that aid reaches as many people in need as possible which will contribute to alleviating their suffering and accelerate the recovery process.”
