France Launches 'Current AI' Initiative with Morocco as Key Partner

France launches Current AI as a project with Morocco becoming a foundation member among several other partner nations. During the AI Action Summit launch the French government started Current AI to get $2.5 billion for five years worth of environmental and social impact assessments on artificial intelligence. President Emmanuel Macron explained that Current AI strives to make the world more innovative by growing French and European AI development.

A cooperation between Nigeria and Kenya leads this diverse global collective which also includes Germany, Finland, Chile, Slovenia, Switzerland, and other countries. Google and Salesforce give their backing to this $400 million platform while the AI Collaborative group stands behind it. Morocco joins this initiative because it follows its current efforts to use AI technology in education and healthcare development.

Morocco takes a forward-looking approach to Artificial Intelligence technology integration because of recent achievements in the country. Amina Bouayach as President of Morocco’s National Human Rights Council urged Hassan I University at Settat to create an AI strategy during her recent visit. 
Younes Shimi leads the Ministry of Education to develop AI technology for schools as he aims to resolve education problems at academic institutions. Morocco follows its 2021-2026 educational plan to develop high-quality public schools by integrating technology without depriving citizens of their human rights.
