Iran raises demands in nuclear negotiations

Iran–According to US special envoy Robert Malley, Iran has made significant strides in uranium enrichment and is impeding discussions on a resurrected nuclear deal by putting forth a number of unrelated demands.
Since March, talks in Vienna aimed at reviving the failed 2015 deal have stalled; attempts to resolve the impasse last week in Qatar failed. Malley claimed that Tehran has “added demands, things that they’ve desired in the past, things that I think anyone looking at this would perceive as having nothing to do with the nuclear deal.”
“While we’re ready to have that conversation, it’s not the one that truly has to happen right now between us and Iran. Iran must decide for itself. They must determine if they are currently ready to resume compliance with the deal.
