Iran Unveils Naval Drone Division As Joe Biden Tours The Middle East
Iran– Iran’s navy has unveiled its first division of ships and submarines capable of carrying armed drones as United States President Joe Biden tours the Middle East.
The state television said, “The first naval drone-carrier division consisting of ships and submarine units carrying all types of drones for combat, detection and destruction has been unveiled.”
Reportedly, advanced drones produced by the military and the defence ministry flown over the Indian Ocean’s waters to test their capabilities.
The announcement comes as Biden undertakes his first presidential visit to the Middle East country. Earlier, the US and Israel accused Iran of using drones and missiles to attack US forces and Israel-linked ships in the Gulf states.

Recently, Israel’s caretaker Prime Minister Yair Lapid and Joe Biden signed a security pact reinforcing their common front against Iran. According to Arab News, his trip also included a presentation of Israel’s “Iron Beam” air defense system.
Earlier, White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said that Iran has planned to deliver “hundreds of drones” to Russia to help its war on Ukraine. However, Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani denied such claims.
Iran’s drone
In May, Iran inaugurated a drone factory in neighbouring Tajikistan. It was Iran’s first drone production facility abroad. Reportedly, Iran wanted to manufacture and export the Ababil-2. Drones are mostly used by Iran’s conventional armed forces. Iran is one of the huge producers of drone technology. Iran began developing drones in the 1980s during the Iran-Iraq war.
Meanwhile, Iran’s nuclear deal talks have been stalled. Over the last few months, representatives from Iran, China, Russia, France, the UK (United Kingdom), and Germany under EU chairmanship have held several rounds of discussions on the nuclear deal.
