Sudan directs working pattern of the United Nations representative
Sudan–Sudanese officials have made it clear that they are not satisfied with the way the United Nations envoy is intervening in the country’s matter. The deputy head of Sudan’s military-led Sovereign Council on Saturday stated that the envoy should be working in facilitating between the two sides in the country rather than trying to mediate.
The Sudanese authority also stressed that the way the UN has been behaving in the African country shows that it is trying to establish itself as a head party rather it should try not to set a pattern. The way military officials expressed the UN involvement, it is clear that the country is definitely going for an easy route when it comes to the international structure. “The head of the United Nations’ Integrated Transition Mission in Sudan (UNITAMS) should be a facilitator and not a mediator,” Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo further added.
