China

China has built 961,000 5G base stations, and 365 5G terminal connections and has shipped 128mn 5th-Generation phones in the past few years. China also aims to install more than 600,000 5G base stations this year. The country also plans to build a 5G-based airport communications system by 2025. It is one of the best countries with the most extensive 5G in 2022.

South Korea

In 2018, South Korea became the first country to roll out a 5G network for businesses. In 2020, South Korea’s 5G subscriptions reached over 9 million. According to Reuters, around 45 per cent of the country’s people are now on 5G. South Korean telcos have built around 215,000 5G base stations across the country.

According to an Ericsson report, around 195 million 5G subscriptions are expected in the United States by 2026. Mobile carriers such as AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon are offering 5G services in all the cities of the United States. The United Kingdom

Several companies have already launched 5G in the United Kingdom. The second-largest telecom operator in the UK, O2, has successfully launched 5G services in 180 cities. Many operators expect 5G to reach up to 35 per cent of data usage by the end of 2022.

Canada

Canada is one of the biggest countries in the 5G industry. Canada’s operators are currently focused on expanding their 5G services across the country. Canadian operators began rolling out 5G in 2020. Mobile operator Rogers covers 41.3 per cent of the population.

Australia

Australia’s largest telecommunications company, Telstra, has installed over 2000 5G base stations across the country. It also covers 42 per cent of the population. Telstra also aims to extend 5G coverage to 95 per cent of Australia by 2025.

Italy

The European Union Commission approved a two billion euro Italian scheme to support the roll-out of 5G mobile networks in Italy. The scheme will run until 30 June 2026. 5G services from Vodafone now cover 90 per cent of Milan.

Finland

Elisa, a Finnish market leader in telecommunications and digital services, reportedly provided 5G coverage in 153 locations in Finland. Finland has made 5G available in a variety of frequency bands, including 00 MHz, 3,400–3,800 MHz, and 26 GHz.

Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia expects 45 million new IoT devices to be supported by 5G by 2030, creating a market worth US$12 billion. The 5G rollouts continue to expand across the country.  Saudi Arabia’s Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) is aiming to award spectrum in the 600 MHz, 700 MHz and 3.8 GHz bands in June.
